The car was purchased by Craig Alderson in early 2004 from the original owner’s family. This car was a much loved part of their lives, the owner having purchased it new in June 1959. It served them well until his unfortunate passing. The wagon was used sparingly thereafter, and then stored: first in a shed and then subsequently outdoors under a tarp. It started to deteriorate, until the original owner's family reluctantly began to look for someone who could give the car the care and attention it needed, and so Craig came to acquire it.

Apart from deteriorated paintwork, the car was in remarkably good condition, needing only new tyres, a replacement head gasket, some minor rust removal, and brake work for re-registration. The car now is used on club events only, and maintained lovingly as a tribute to its original purchaser and the joy it bought his family over his many years of ownership.
