After a lengthy hiatus, we now publish our Club Magazine "Sideplate" each month. It provides information to club members on upcoming events, recent meetings and events held, contact phone numbers and so on. Additionally, each issue generally has a technical or other special feature. Sideplate also includes classifieds, both "For Sale" and "Wanted".

Subscription to "Sideplate" is included in membership.

The magazine is now available on-line! From Issue #44 onwards, you can down-load the magazine here. It is in Adobe Acrobat (or PDF) format, suitable for reading on-line or printing. The very first on-line issue is unfortunately missing some photos, but as new issues are published on-line, they are complete.

Downloadable copies will be published here a month or so after being distributed to Club Members (once they're superceded). Club members can download the most recent issue via our Discussion Board.

History of Sideplate.

It has always been known as "the magazine". In its earliest form, it was called "Newsletter", and the first issue was produced by Alex Smits in May 1986. It was 7 single-sided pages long - including front and back cover, and had just one photo. Alex went on to produce a total of 33 issues over a period of about 9 years, during which time the magazine grew to around 16-20 pages per issue, with photos, cartoons and pictures drawn by Alex, Run Reports and so on. Richard Thomas took over in 1995. A brief history of Sideplate:

The hard-copy version of Sideplate is printed by EDN Printing of Leura, who do a fantastic job. We are happy to recommend them to anyone with small-run printing requirements. They also provide shrink-wrapping and postage services. Contact Eric North, by email or telephone 02 4784 2091
